Fox Weather Tops App Store Within Hours Of Platform Launch

By noon ET today, the just-launched streaming weather service claimed the No. 1 spot on the Apple App Store’s ranking of free apps.

Fox Weather, Fox News Media’s new ad-supported streaming weather service, is the most-downloaded free app in the country, according to the Apple App Store.

The platform, which launched at 6 a.m. ET today is a streaming weather service offering users a comprehensive suite of forecasting products along with a 24/7 live streaming network, all free to users upon download. The app also features exclusive technology, such as 3D radar, Fox Weather Wire and Fox FutureView, allowing for a more personalized and detailed approach to weather coverage.

Fox Weather meteorologists Jason Frazer and Britta Merwin along with Stephen Morgan kicked off the live programing this morning on Fox Weather Sunrise, which is the AVOD platform’s signature morning show (Weekdays, 6-9 a.m. ET) for which they serve as co-anchors.

Meteorologists Amy Freeze and Craig Herrera took over with live coverage of the developing weather systems facing the country, including the Nor’easter and bomb cyclone today at noon ET as co-anchors of America’s Weather Center. TikTok sensation and meteorologist Nick Kosir will helm coverage starting at 5 p.m. ET on his show Fox Weather Wild.
