Local TV First Movers Highlight OTT News Summit
Executives from Sinclair’s Stirr, Cox Media Group, CBS Local and Gray Television will share their insights on the challenges of launching local news programming over the top at TVNewsCheck’s OTT News Summit on June 11 at the Microsoft Conference Center in New York.
Scott Ehrlich, VP of emerging platform content at Sinclair; Ian Stinson, executive director, digital audience and product at Cox Media Group; Adam Wiener, EVP and GM of CBS Local Digital Media; and Erin Overstreet, director, digital sales at Gray Television will provide strategies they’ve developed on audience behavior, optimal OTT content and programming decisions, backend tech challenges and monetization opportunities in a panel discussion at 10:30 a.m. on June 11.
“Sinclair, Cox, CBS and Gray are in the vanguard of local station groups launching a presence on OTT,” said Kathy Haley, publisher and co-founder of TVNewsCheck. “In moving early and decisively, they recognized the importance of the platform for local news and consequently have much to share on the fronts of content, technology and monetization there.”
Ehrlich, Stinson, Wiener and Overstreet will join previously announced keynote speaker Jon Steinberg, CEO of Cheddar and Katie Larson, VP of brand strategy and innovation at Magid, who will open the conference with a scene-setting breakdown of the OTT marketplace.
TVNewsCheck’s OTT News Summit will explore all elements of the OTT value chain for news organizations. Sessions will cover national news content; back-end technology; product design and user experience; measurement; discovery; and monetization. The conference aims to empower news organizations to frame and refine their deployment strategies on OTT, a rapidly expanding platform essential to reaching audiences, especially younger viewers.
The Summit is presented in conjunction with Sports Video Group.
