Station Groups, Nets Tackle OTT UX, Discovery
News organizations face uphill OTT challenges in discoverability, user experience and engagement and reliable audience measurement, all of which seasoned broadcasters will assess at TVNewsCheck’s OTT News Summit at the Microsoft Conference Center in New York.
Kaizar Campwala, VP business operations and insights, ABC News; Roma Kojima, senior director, OTT video, CBC; Jonathan Beard, director of digital product development, Graham Media Group; and Kerry Oslund, VP strategy and business development, Tribune Broadcasting, will wend through some of streaming’s more vexing challenges on June 11 at 2:15 p.m. Michael Senzon, executive director digital content, The Weather Channel, will moderate the discussion.
Panelists will share from-the-trenches lessons in how their technology and marketing leaders are collaborating to find viewers, build audience and ensure the best user experience across a fragmented array of OTT platforms. They’ll also examine the challenges to measurement that continue to present themselves, along with strategies to overcome them.
“OTT’s fragmented, proliferating landscape presents a whole new set of challenges for news organizations, not least of which is finding and continuously engaging viewers assailed with choices,” said Michael Depp, special projects editor at TVNewsCheck.
“Kaizar, Roma and Jon will dig into how they’ve adapted to those challenges, while Kerry’s insights into the perils of streaming measurement will help chart a path towards solutions and open up new monetization potential,” Depp added.
TVNewsCheck’s OTT News Summit will explore all elements of the OTT value chain for news organizations. Sessions will cover news content; back-end technology; product design and user experience; measurement; discovery; ad tech and monetization. It aims to empower news organizations to frame and refine their deployment strategies on OTT, a rapidly expanding platform essential to reaching audiences, especially younger viewers.
The Summit is presented in conjunction with Sports Video Group.
