Telemundo To Stream Virtual Community Forum On COVID Vaccines

Telemundo will stream a special virtual community forum on its digital properties on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. ET featuring faith leaders, medical experts and community leaders discussing the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines. Noticias Telemundo is the exclusive media partner of the virtual forum in partnership with the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative under its “It’s Up to You” COVID-19 vaccination education campaign.

Noticias Telemundo and NBC Nightly News Saturday anchor José Díaz-Balart will host the forum and hoyDía anchor Nicole Suarez will moderate a panel discussion with medical experts. With a special introduction by Eva Longoria, the virtual community forum will be available with Spanish and English translation. To watch, viewers can tune into Noticias Telemundo’s Facebook page and Telemundo’s YouTube channel. Content from the event will also appear on NBC News Now.

The event will focus on addressing questions about COVID-19 vaccines with a special emphasis on the Latino community. It follows the release last week of a new global public service ad by the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative featuring Pope Francis and six cardinals and archbishops from North, Central and South America encouraging vaccine acceptance.

Under NBCUniversal’s Plan Your Vaccine awareness campaign launched earlier this year, Telemundo, the leading media company for U.S. Hispanics, is providing news, information and resources in Spanish, through Planifica Tu Vacuna, a comprehensive interactive tool in Spanish, to help Latinos plan for their COVID-19 vaccination.
