New Reporter And Editor Hires At Newsy

The Scripps-owned video news network Newsy is welcoming aboard two new hires with notable journalism backgrounds. Amber Strong joins the team as a politics reporter, covering the 2020 election with a focus on health care. Strong arrives from CBN News, where she worked as a White House correspondent. She’s also spent time at MSNBC and WTHR, a local NBC affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana. Alex Zuckerman has been named senior coordinating editor, with oversight on futures planning as well as daily editorial coordination. Zuckerman was with CBSN, where she helped launch the streaming network for CBS News in New York, before moving to Washington, D.C., to field produce and book guests.

Newsy describes itself as “a next-generation video news network” with a “growing team of journalists across the country, producing everything from up-to-the-minute news coverage to features, investigations and long-form documentaries.”

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. Newsy has not and probably will not grow. Why? Maybe it has something to do with a News Assistant being hired as their “VP of News and Programming” back before the company was acquired by Scripps. Somehow, she’s managed to keep her job. Laughable.

For the record, I think the young journalists, producers etc at Newsy are terrific! But, clearly, that VP needs to go. In my opinion.
