Hasnie's first day at Fox News will be Feb. 18. She will work as an overnight anchor and news correspondent.

"Growing up in Bedford and graduating from IU, it was a DREAM to be able to work in Central Indiana — my home," Hasnie wrote in the social media post announcing her Fox59 departure. She went on to say that she has learned a lot from anchoring alongside Ray Cortopassi, and from covering major events and breaking news in the city.

"I hope I've done justice to this job of public service. But what I cherish the most are all your personal stories I was honored to share and the relationships I built," Hasnie writes. "You trusted me. You let me into your lives. And in turn, you helped me grow into the person I am today. For that, I am forever thankful."

According to her Fox59 bio, Hasnie was born in Pakistan, but grew up in Bedford. She also spent time living in Saudi Arabia.

Before joining Fox59 in July 2011, she was an investigative reporter and anchor at WANE-TV in Fort Wayne.

Hasnie received a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Indiana University where she was a Dick Yoakam Broadcast Journalism Scholar.
