Alyssa Ivanson Named WANE Fort Wayne Evening Anchor

Nexstar CBS affiliate WANE Fort Wayne, Ind., has moved Alyssa Ivanson, currently the anchor of First News on weekday mornings, to weeknight anchor on its First at Five, News at Six and Nightcast at 11 p.m. She will anchor along with Fort Wayne favorite Dirk Rowley.

Ivanson has been with WANE for 15 years, serving in a variety of roles. Starting as a general assignment reporter and producer, she anchored the weekend evening newscasts from 2007 to 2015 before being promoted to 15 Finds Out investigative reporter. In 2018, she joined WANE’s morning newscast, anchoring weekdays from 5 to 7.

She has been nominated for more than a dozen Regional Emmy Awards, and has been recognized numerous times by the Indiana Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists, and Indiana Broadcaster’s Association. Most recently she was nominated for three Regional Emmy Awards.

Ivanson has been on maternity leave for the past few months, spending time with her husband and new daughter, Chloe. She will assume her new role on June 14, following the departure of longtime WANE anchor Terra Brantley, who leaves to become the president and CEO of the Fort Wayne Urban League.
