Andy Lacombe Named News Director Of Spectrum News 1 In Massachusetts

Spectrum Networks today announced the promotion of Andy Lacombe to News Director for Spectrum News 1 in Massachusetts.  Lacombe most recently was the network’s assistant news director, and in his new role will oversee the day-to-day operations, including the creation and local execution of news programming and telling stories that matter most to the communities in Central and Western Massachusetts.

“Andy was instrumental in raising the bar for our objective 24/7 reporting when we introduced our new format for local news in January 2020,” said Jason Pheister, vice president, news and content, Spectrum Networks, to whom Andy will continue to report. “A Central Massachusetts native, he has a deep understanding of the regions we cover, which is invaluable as we continue to deepen our connection with our communities, serving as their trusted local news source.”

Lacombe has more than two decades of experience in television news, including 20 years with the network. In addition to serving as assistant news director since 2019, he has worked for Spectrum News in various roles, including as senior executive producer, assignment editor, news and sports anchor and general assignment reporter.

Prior to Spectrum, Lacombe was a general assignment reporter and sports anchor for WCTR and news reporter at WGMC in Worcester.

Lacombe holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from Providence College and a Master of Arts in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University.
