Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Chris Gloninger will lead Hearst-owned CBS affiliate KCCI Des Moines, Iowa’s Storm Team 8 weather team. He will make his on-air debut as chief meteorologist on July 6.

Gloninger has broad experience forecasting during snowstorms, hurricanes, and severe weather events. “We are thrilled to welcome someone of Chris’ depth who also has Midwest experience,” said KCCI President and General Manager Brian Sather. “His leadership of our weather team will ensure that viewers will have the accuracy they expect from Storm Team 8.”

After graduating from Plymouth State University, Gloninger began his career at WHEC Rochester, N.Y.
