Christana Kay Landress Joins WAPT Weather Team

Hearst-owned ABC affiliate WAPT Jackson, Miss. (DMA 92), has added meteorologist Christana Kay Landress as weekend morning meteorologist.

The WAPT weather team is led by chief meteorologist David Hartman and includes meteorologists Kara James and Adam McWilliams.

Landress is an AP Award winner (Best College Weathercast) and graduate of Mississippi State University, where she is currently completing a master’s degree in professional meteorology and climatology.

In addition to weather, Landress is also a competitive figure skater, former MSU Color Guard Captain, former president of the National Society for Collegiate Scholars, and competed in the Miss Mississippi pageant as Miss Northland. She has also performed twice in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
