Doug Currin Joins WOLO Columbia As Evening Anchor
Bahakel Communications-owned ABC affiliate WOLO Columbia, S.C., has hired veteran journalist Doug Currin to anchor its evening newscasts alongside longtime WOLO anchor Rochelle Dean.
Currin starts his new duties co-anchoring the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts on March 28.
He was most recently was an anchor in Knoxville, Tenn., and has been a reporter and anchor in markets from Texas to Pennsylvania, winning Emmys and Associated Press awards.
Currin also spent time on the ground reporting, embedded in the war in Iraq.
He is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
