Meteorologist Marty Coniglio, a longtime Denver television weatherman, explains his departure from 9News this summer in a column posted online.

Coniglio was fired in July, a day after he compared, on social media, federal troops in U.S. cities to Nazis. Coniglio’s tweet came the same day President Donald Trump announced he would be sending a surge of federal troops into Democratic cities to combat local crime.
Coniglio had a 35-year career in broadcasting before his firing, he said in the Westword posting.
