Gavin Maliska To Lead WEEK News
Quincy Media’s NBC affiliate WEEK Peoria, Ill., has named Gavin Maliska news director starting Dec. 2. He will oversee the journalism at the NBC affiliate, its Heart of Illinois ABC affiliate subchannel, as well as all online and digital news content.
Maliska is a veteran news manager and journalist with experience in successfully leading newsrooms in several very competitive markets. He managed news in a multi-platform operation in Macon, Ga., and had a leadership role at stations in Orlando, Fla.; Chicago; and Indianapolis.
A native of northern Illinois, Maliska received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism from Northern Illinois University. He brings extensive knowledge of the news industry including television and newspaper experience at the Chicago Sun-Times, WFLD Chicago and as news director at WXIN Indianapolis.
