KATU Portland Names Wright Gazaway Co-Anchor OF ‘KATU News At Four’

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ABC affiliate KATU Portland, Ore., has chosen investigative reporter Wright Gazaway to co-anchor KATU News at Four, where he joins Debora Knapp.

Wright joined KATU as an investigative reporter in June 2020, coming to the Pacific Northwest from WTOC Savannah, Ga. In addition to his new duties as co-anchor, Gazaway will continue to serve as KATU’s chief investigative journalist.

Since his arrival at KATU, Gazaway has been reporting on police reform and officer training in the region. These investigations led to a one-hour KATU News documentary, Sworn to Protect:  A Difficult Conversation and a 10-part news series on gun violence in Portland.

Gazaway’s field reporting in Georgia earned him an Emmy award from the Southeast Chapter of NATAS. He has also been recognized for his excellence by the Georgia Associated Press.
