KGAN-KFXA Adds Christopher King As Anchor

Sinclair-owned and operated KGAN (CBS) and KFXA (Fox) Cedar Rapids, Iowa (DMA 87). Has hired Christopher King to co-anchor its weeknight news broadcasts beginning Monday, Oct. 22. He joins Karen Fuller for CBS2 News at 6 and 10 p.m., as well as Fox 28 News at 9 p.m.

King is a veteran journalist who has been on the front lines of some of the nation’s biggest stories, from the 9/11 terror attack in New York to the massacre on the Las Vegas Strip.

He worked as a reporter for WGCL Atlanta. He was on the scene for the church shootings in Charleston, S.C., the Atlanta Public School cheating scandal and when former President Jimmy Carter announced he’s battling cancer.

Before WGCL, King worked as a freelance reporter at CBS Newspath and CNN.

He is originally from New York City and is a graduate of New York University’s School of Journalism and earned 72 credits in New York University’s Ph.D. program in American Studies.
