Khiree Stewart Joins WBAL Baltimore News Team

Hearst Television’s NBC affiliate WBAL Baltimore has hired Khiree Stewart. Later this month. he will anchor the weekend editions of 11 News at 6, 10 and 11 p.m. and will additionally report three nights during the week.

“We’re excited to have Khiree join our news team, both at our anchor desk and as a reporter,” said Dan Joerres, WBAL president-GM. “He’ll make an outstanding addition to the weekend evening newscasts working alongside Pete Gilbert and Tony Pann.”

Stewart comes to WBAL News from WPHL Philadelphia where he worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor. He also worked as an anchor/reporter at stations in Richmond and Roanoke, Va.

Stewart’s first day at WBAL-TV will be Jan. 19.

With Stewart’s arrival, longtime WBAL-TV weekend anchor Kai Reed will shift to a Monday- Friday role, bringing viewers breaking news and trending stories from the breaking news desk at 5 and 6 p.m. Additionally, Reed will co-anchor 11 News at 10:00 p.m. with Ashley Hinson. Reed joined WBAL as a reporter in July 2010 and began anchoring the weekend evening newscasts in 2014.
