KMBC Kansas City To Launch Noon News On KCWE

Hearst-owned ABC affiliate KMBC Kansas City, Mo. (DMA 32), will debut a new newscast on co-owned CW affil KCWE. KMBC 9 News at Noon will be a one-hour local newscast airing weekdays starting Sept. 21.

The newscast will be anchored by Rob Hughes. Weather coverage will be provided by meteorologists Katie Horner and Neville Miller.

“This newscast is another example of our commitment to the residents of Kansas and Missouri,” said KMBC-KCWE President-GM Sarah Smith. “Whenever viewers are able to tune in, they should expect to find the latest facts. This extra hour of news will serve to keep our viewers up to speed in these constantly changing times.”

KMBC will continue its First News broadcasts on KCWE on weekdays from 7 to 9 a.m. as well as its late newscasts on KCWE every night at 9 p.m.
