KMGH Denver Hires Megan Jurgemeyer As Senior News Director

She joins from KUSA Denver to oversee journalism at the Scripps ABC affiliate beginning Aug. 14.

KMGH, the Scripps ABC affiliate in Denver, has hired Emmy Award-winning producer Megan Jurgemeyer to lead its news department as senior director of news, effective Aug. 14.

Jurgemeyer most recently was news director at KUSA Denver, having served in ascending roles there since 2013, including managing editor and senior producer.

Prior to that, she spent three years as a news producer at KMGH and two years as a reporter, anchor and producer at KREX Grand Junction, Colo.

“Megan is a seasoned newsroom leader,” said Dean Littleton, senior vice president, Scripps Local, and former KMGH vice president and general manager. “From reporting to editing and producing, she understands the newsgathering essentials as well as how to guide teams to connect with their audiences. Her leadership acumen and commitment to journalism make her a great fit for Scripps.”

Jurgemeyer holds a Master of Mass Communication from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Colorado State University.
