KMSP-WFTC Expands News, Names Anchors
Tim Blotz and Naomi Pescovitz have been named co-anchors of the Fox 9 News at 6:30 p.m. and the expanded hour-long Fox 9+ News at 7 p.m. at Fox owned KMSP and WFTC Minneapolis (DMA 15).
With this addition, KMSP and WFTC will produce 11 hours of local news each weekday and a combined 65 hours of news per week.
The addition of the Fox 9 News at 6:30 p.m. will provide two hours of news on the station from 5 to 7 p.m. The station says the expanded version will “maintain its current unique style” but allow the anchors to provide a more thorough examination of the headlines and issues of the day, with added lifestyle, health and consumer news.
Blotz has been KMSP’s weekend anchor and political reporter for the past 14 years. Previously, he was an anchor and reporter for KOAT Albuquerque, N.M.; WFRV Green Bay, Wis.;, and WTMJ Milwaukee.
Pescovitz most recently was solo anchor for the half-hour edition of the Fox 9+ News at 7 p.m. on WFTC. Prior to that, she was an anchor and reporter for WTHR Indianapolis and previously, a reporter and fill-in anchor at KSTP St. Paul, Minn. Pescovitz began her career as a reporter for KVOA Tucson, Ariz.
