KOBI, Southern Oregon University Schedule Oregon Gubernatorial Debate

In partnership with Southern Oregon University, California-Oregon Broadcasting’s NBC affiliates KOBI and KOTI, based in Southern Oregon, present a gubernatorial debate live Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. on KOBI in Medford and KOTI in Klamath Falls.

The debate will also be seen live in the Eugene on KEVU. In addition, it will stream live on KOBI5.com where it will be available for viewing throughout the state of Oregon and beyond.

The debate will be broadcast live from the KOBI studios, featuring candidates Christine Drazan (R), Betsy Johnson (unaffiliated) and Tina Kotek (D).

KOBI News Director Craig Smullin will moderate the debate. He will also be a panelist joined by Dr. Richard J. Bailey Jr., President of Southern Oregon University; and Patsy Smullin, KOBI-KOTI president and owner.

“We are in the final stages of preparation for the debate and look forward to hosting all three candidates and helping viewers make an informed decision as election day approaches,” said Bob Wise, the stations’ vice president and general manager. “In addition, NBC5 is very fortunate to partner with Southern Oregon University. SOU is a cherished and distinguished Southern Oregon institution.Their participation brings extra gravitas to this historic debate.”
