KPTV Portland Adds 4 P.M. Newscast

The 4 O’clock News debuts Monday, Sept. 9, at 4 p.m. The hour-long broadcast features anchors, Wayne Garcia and Nora Hart, and weather from Chief Meteorologist Mark Nelsen.

Meredith-owned Fox affiliate KPTV Portland, Ore. (DMA 22), is launching a new newscast next week.

The 4 O’clock News debuts Monday, Sept. 9, at 4 p.m. The hour-long broadcast features anchors, Wayne Garcia and Nora Hart, and weather from Chief Meteorologist, Mark Nelsen.

The news expansion will bring the total number of locally produced news hours to 14 every weekday across KPTV and its sister station, KPDX (Fox 12 Plus). Including local news on the weekends, the stations combined will broadcast 84.5 hours of local news each week.

The news expansion means a time-period change for fans of Judge Judy. A full-hour of the syndicated favorite will move up one hour to 3 p.m. on KPTV. There will be another full-hour of Judge Judy at 4 p.m. on KPDX for viewers who enjoy watching the show in its long-standing time period.

Viewers will see two more familiar faces on television this fall. Daytime icon, Jerry Springer, returns to television in his new syndicated show, Judge Jerry at 3 p.m. weekdays on KPDX.

Fans of singing sensation and first American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, can see her in syndication on The Kelly Clarkson Show at 11 a.m. weekdays on KPTV.  The programming changes begin Monday, Sept. 9.
