Kristen Hamilton Is KGAN-KFXA News Director

Sinclair’s KGAN (CBS)-KFXA (Fox) Cedar Rapids, Iowa (DMA 90) have appointed Kristen Hamilton as news director. (Sinclair provides sales and operating services to KFXA, the license of which is retained by Second Generation of Iowa.)

She spent the last five years as news director Sinclair’s KHQA in her hometown of Quincy, Ill.

Hamilton earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Illinois in 2001.

Prior to her stint at KHQA, Hamilton held news management positions in Springfield, Mo.; Savannah, Ga.; Peoria, Ill., and Indianapolis.

“We are looking forward to having Kristen join our team,” said VP-GM Glen Callanan. “She has a proven track record of growing newsrooms both over the air and digitally. Kristen is a passionate news manager who will have CBS2/Fox 28 ready to serve our home market now and in the future.”

Hamilton starts her new position on Jan. 13, 2020.
