Univision moves the news exec from KWEX San Antonio, Texas, to oversee journalism at its Dallas outlet.
KUVN Dallas Names Calixto Gonzalez VP Of News
Univision has promoted Calixto Gonzalez to vice president of news at its KUVN Dallas. He has been assistant news director at Univision’s KWEX San Antonio.
An Emmy award-winning, veteran news executive with nearly two decades of experience, Gonzalez began his career as a news intern at Univision’s WLII San Juan, P.R., in 2002, where he eventually rose through the ranks to become executive producer in 2010.
He joined KWEX in 2016 as assistant news director, where he launched Edicion Digital San Antonio as well as various political specials and community empowerment shows.
A native of Puerto Rico, he received his Bachelor of Arts from the Universidad de Puerto Rico in 2002.
