WCVB’s Jorge Quiroga announces his retirement
The award-winning broadcast journalist joined Channel 5 in 1974.
Longtime WCVB reporter Jorge Quiroga announced Tuesday that he will retire from the station where he has worked for more than four decades at the end of the year. Quiroga, a general assignment reporter at Channel 5 who joined the station in 1974, made the announcement on Twitter as he reacted to being inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Boston chapter’s Silver Circle. “As I announce my retirement at end of 2018; nearly 45 yrs in 1 TV market at 1 station , it’s an honor to receive Silver Circle recognition from colleagues in broadcast industry,” he wrote.
