Marissa Mitchell Joins WTTG Washington News

Fox-owned WTTG Washington has added Marissa Mitchell to its news department. Effective September, she will serve as an anchor for Fox 5 Mornings, alongside Wisdom Martin, Holly Morris, Erin Como and Mike Thomas. Mitchell will also anchor and report for Good Day DC.

Most recently, Mitchell was an anchor and reporter for Fox’s WAGA Atlanta. Prior to that, she was an anchor and reporter at WBMA Birmingham, Ala. She began her career in broadcasting as a multimedia journalist for WTVC Chattanooga, Tenn. She has also written for Rolling Out and Crossroads News.

Mitchell holds a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. A graduate of Emory University, she also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science.
