Martha Raddatz To Keynote NAB Show New York

The ABC News correspondent will appear in conversation with NAB President-CEO Gordon Smith on Oct. 18.

ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz and NAB President-CEO Gordon Smith will headline a keynote session on Thursday, Oct. 18, at NAB Show New York.

The pair will discuss Raddatz’s experience as a war correspondent, White House reporter, moderator of both Presidential and Vice Presidential debates, and the importance of broadcast journalism in an era of social media unrest.

Raddatz has received four Emmy Awards, including for her coverage of the inauguration of Barack Obama, the attacks of September 11 and the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Additionally, she is the author of The Long Road Home—a Story of War and Family, which made both The New York Times and The Washington Post bestseller lists.

In addition to covering several presidential campaigns, Raddatz co-moderated a presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and a vice presidential debate between Paul Ryan and Vice President Joe Biden.

In 2011, she reported exclusive details on the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. That same year, Raddatz was one of the few reporters on the last major convoy out of Iraq. In 2015, she was granted exclusive access to the anti-ISIS command center at an undisclosed location in the Middle East. She is the only television reporter allowed to fly in an F-15 fighter jet on combat missions over Afghanistan, spending nearly 10 hours in the air on two separate missions.

“For decades, Martha Raddatz has provided Americans with in-depth reporting from some of the world’s most perilous locations,” said Smith. “We look forward to hearing her stories from the field and learning her perspectives on how broadcast journalism impacts our understanding of the world.”

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Before joining ABC News, Raddatz was the Pentagon correspondent for National Public Radio. Prior to that, she was a reporter at Hearst-owned ABC affiliate WCVB Boston.
