Fox-owned KRIV Houston has hired Remeisha Shade as weekday evening weather anchor. Beginning in September, she will report the weather for the station’s weekday 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts. Shade joins Mike Iscovitz, Lena Maria Arango and John Dawson on the Gulf Coast Weather Authority team.

Susan Schiller, KRIV vice president and news director, said: “Remeisha was inspired to pursue a career in meteorology as a teenager when she and her family lived through an F4 tornado which destroyed her neighborhood and home. Since then, she understands the potentially life-saving nature of weather reporting and will bring that passion to our broadcast and digital viewers.”

Most recently, Shade was meteorologist for WEWS Cleveland. Prior to that, she was a weekend meteorologist at KXAS Dallas and WAFF Huntsville, Ala. She started her career as a meteorologist and reporter for KBMT Beaumont, Texas.

Shade holds a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from Florida State University and is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society.
