A special show spotlighting winners of the annual journalism awards will be streamed on social media on April 16 and aired on E.W. Scripps-owned Newsy on April 26.
Scripps Howard Awards To Stream Winners Show
The Scripps Howard Foundation said Friday that it has cancelled its live awards show slated for April 16 in Cincinnati’s Memorial Hall and will instead stream a special show on Facebook and YouTube that day.
The foundation released the following statement:
“We have been carefully monitoring COVID-19 developments over the past few weeks. In the interest of the health and safety of our winners and guests, we think it best if we do not move forward with the live show and celebration at Memorial Hall.
Instead, we will produce a special show on video honoring this year’s extraordinary award winners.
The show will stream via YouTube and Facebook on Thursday, April 16, and will air Sunday, April 26, on Newsy . It will rebroadcast on Scripps stations throughout the summer. More details will be available at SHAwards.org.
