TVN Webinar: Technology And Election Season Storytelling
The challenges of covering a contentious election during a global pandemic will be the focus of a TVNewsCheck Working Lunch Webinar featuring leaders of television’s news technology community.
Set for Thursday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. ET, Technology and News Storytelling in an Extraordinary Year will consider how technology can facilitate innovative approaches to storytelling during a season of widespread mail-in voting, political disinformation campaigns and a prolonged vote counting period.
Speakers:
Alan Komissaroff, SVP news and politics, Fox News Channel, has worked on all of the network’s election-related event nights since 2008 and produced multiple presidential debates during the 2012 and 2016 elections. He has also overseen the launch and integration of multiple new production technologies during his 20-year career at FNC.
Tony Plosz has been SVP and CTO of Graham Media Group since August of last year. Before joining Graham, spent three years as VP engineering and operations at NBCU-owned NBC 10 / Telemundo 62 in Philadelphia, where he oversaw the design and construction of an IP-based operation and one of the country’s most technologically-advanced broadcast facilities located within the recently completed Comcast Technology Center.
Bogdan Frusina is founder of Dejero, a company he launched after spending time with journalists covering election campaigns and realizing technology could solve their connectivity challenges. As the TV industry grows more mobile, and reliable connectivity becomes even more vital, Frusina is leading Dejero in pioneering new blended connectivity solutions—ensuring there is bandwidth when and where it’s needed. He began his career at Research in Motion (now Blackberry) and has founded several startup companies.
Stephane Guez is founder and CTO of Dalet Digital Media Systems. With a background in computer sciences, software design and development and information technology, Guez launched Dalet after working in post-doctoral research at the University of Rochester. He worked for many years as the director of research and development at Dalet, after which he moved to New York City to develop the company’s business in North America.
