WAGA Names Scott Stucky VP-News Director

Fox promotes him from senior executive producer of news to lead the department at its Atlanta O&O.

Fox O&O WAGA Atlanta (DMA 10) on Monday appointed Scott Stucky vice president and news director. Effective immediately, Stucky will oversee all news functions for WAGA, reporting directly to Bill Schneider, station VP-GM.

In making the announcement, Schneider said: “Scott’s competitive drive, passion for excellence and knowledge of the North Georgia community make him the ideal choice to lead our veteran group of news managers and the WAGA/FOX5 newsroom. Having spent the last two decades of his career at WAGA, Scott has worn many hats, from producer and operations manager, to Good Day Atlanta supervisor and digital team leader. He has been the go-to person on nearly every significant newsroom initiative and I’m confident he will keep our station focused on serving the needs of our community.”

Stucky has been with WAGA since 1996. Most recently, he was senior executive producer of news, and before that, he held the positions of news operations manager, executive producer of weekend newscasts, supervising producer of Good Day Atlanta, and newscast producer.

Stucky began his career in broadcasting as a producer at WLFL Raleigh, N.C.

A graduate of the University of Kansas, Stucky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
