WAPT Jackson’s Cecil Hannibal Joins Morning Team

Hearst-owned ABC affiliate WAPT Jackson, Miss., reporter Cecil Hannibal has been promoted to the Morning News team as a news anchor. He joins anchor Erin Pickens and meteorologist Adam McWilliams on the Emmy Award-winning weekday morning newscast at 4:30-7.

“We’re excited to add Cecil to our morning team,” said WAPT News Director Rick McLaughlin. “During his time as a 16 WAPT reporter, viewers saw firsthand Cecil’s energy and passion for local news. He will be a great addition to our team as we continue delivering on our commitment of providing viewers the best local news and weather information in Mississippi.”

Originally from Louisville, Ky., Hannibal grew up in Atlanta and is a graduate of the University of Southern California. He has worked behind the scenes of CBS Mornings in New York; at WLKY in Louisville, Ky.; WSB-TV Atlanta; and as an anchor and reporter for Annenberg TV News.
