WCAV Ups Anchors Carly Haynes And Sarah Robinson

Lockwood Broadcast Group-owned CBS affiliate WCAV Charlottesville, Va., announced two key promotions in its news department. Weekend anchor and reporter Carly Haynes will take over anchor duties of CBS19 News at 4 p.m. and Fox Virginia News at 10 p.m. Reporter Sarah Robinson will now anchor both newscasts on weekend evenings.

Haynes joined WCAV in June of 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and has anchored weekend evening newscasts for the past year. She has also started her own franchise called “Contact Carly” where she digs into neighborhood issues in Central Virginia. Carly will co-anchor CBS19 News at 4 p.m. with veteran journalist Ric Young and Fox Virginia News at 10 p.m. with News Director Dan Schutte.

Robinson joined WCAV in November of 2020. She is a graduate of James Madison University and has been serving as the station’s nightside reporter with a focus on local government. Recently, she landed a sit-down interview with outgoing governor Ralph Northam. Robinson will continue to cover local governments in her new role. She is serving as Miss Greater Charlottesville and will compete in the Miss Virginia competition later this year.
