WDFL Brings 24/7 News To Miami With NewsNet

NewsNet, a 24-hour news diginet focused on delivering headlines without talk and opinion-based programming, has added Paramount Broadcasting’s WDFL-LD Miami (DMA 16) as an affiliate.

NewsNet, launched in January 2019, follows a traditional “news wheel” format providing a quick look at the headlines every half hour. It is available in 45 markets nationwide, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and now, Miami.

“It’s a great pleasure to be joining forces with NewsNet to bring 24-hour news to South Florida,” said Francois Leconte, Paramount chaiman-CEO.

In addition to broadcasting NewsNet on its flagship channel — 18.1 — WDFL carries several other networks on its subchannels, providing home shopping, religious and Spanish language programming.

“We’re thrilled to be working with WDFL as we continue to expand our reach,” said Eric Wotila, president of NewsNet, “We’re committed to bringing viewers a no-nonsense look at news — whether or not they subscribe to cable or satellite — and through our agreement with WDFL, we’re excited to be bringing this refreshing approach to newsgathering to Miami.”
