The Scripps ABC affiliate is rolling out seven hours of new newscasts on broadcast and streaming platforms beginning June 3.

WFTS Tampa Expands Local News
Over the next few months Scripps-owned ABC affiliate WFTS Tampa (DMA 11) will be launching seven hours of coverage across multiple platforms every weekday.
According to the station, “ABC Action News Streaming Now is pioneering the way to serve audience needs for immediate information anytime and anywhere people want to view it. All for free.”
ABC Action News Streaming Now will be delivered to everyone across its streaming platforms, including:
- ABCActionNews.com
- The free ABC Action News app for mobile phones/tablets
- Streaming devices like, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV and Smart TVs
- Broadcast television for portions of the day
The commitment of ABC Action News Streaming Now begins June 3 with Good Morning Tampa Bay at 7 a.m. The station calls it the “Bay area’s first and only digital exclusive full newscast. Viewers who want more weather and traffic updates before they head out the door can just turn to their favorite streaming service. The popular morning news team of Deiah Riley, James Tully, Meteorologist Greg Dee and Traffic anchor Sarah Phinney will lead the way.”
Starting July 29, ABC Action News On All Day will cover 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the parts of the day when people need to check in to get updates. Viewers won’t need to find a TV for their midday news. It’s all streaming at their fingertips.
For ABC Action News at 3 p.m., another stream is added … broadcast TV. Anchor Lauren St. Germain and Meteorologist Shay Ryan will bring Bay area viewers’ first look at what’s happening in their neighborhoods and weather updates for the evening and next day. ABC Action News at 3 p.m. launches July 29.
