WGN Chicago Presenting Mayoral Forum
Tribune-owned independent WGN-TV Chicago (DMA 3) will air a Chicago mayoral candidates forum this Thursday, Jan. 10, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. live from Steinmetz College Prep in Chicago.
WGN News anchors Lourdes Duarte and Tahman Bradley will moderate the forum of current candidates running to be the next mayor of Chicago. The event is being hosted by Alderman Gilbert Villegas of the 36th Ward.
The forum will be broadcast live and commercial-free on WGN-TV, CLTV and WGNTV.com
The following candidates will appear:
- Dorothy Brown, Cook County Circuit Court Clerk
- Gery Chico, former President of the Chicago Public School Board
- Amara Enyia, policy consultant and community activist, Director of theAustin Chamber of Commerce
- Robert Fioretti, former Chicago City Alderman and candidate for mayor in 2015
- La Shawn Ford, member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 8thDistrict
- Neal Sales-Griffin, entrepreneur, educator, and CEO of CodeNow
- Jerry Joyce, former Assistant States Attorney
- John Kozlar, neighborhood activist and attorney
- Lori Lightfoot, former president of the Chicago Police Board and former Assistant U.S. Attorney
- Garry McCarthy, former Chicago Police Department Superintendent
- Susana Mendoza, Illinois Comptroller and former City Clerk of Chicago
- Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President and Chairwoman of theCook County Democratic Party
- Paul Vallas, former CEO of Chicago Public Schools
- Willie Wilson, businessman and philanthropist
Following the forum, WGN News will also present Decision 2019: The Race for Mayor from 8:30 to 9 p.m. on WGN-TV, CLTV and WGNTV.com. The half-hour analysis of the forum will be anchored by WGN’s Micah Materre and Joe Donlon, featuring a panel of political experts.
