WIS Columbia Adds Eric Zernich To Weather Team

Gray Television’s NBC affiliate WIS Columbia, S.C., has hired Eric Zernich for its First Alert Weather team. He is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist who joins WIS from WNWO Toledo, Ohio, where he was the morning weather anchor.

Zernich’s experience includes nearly half a decade in other markets, and he’s no stranger to weather in the southeast. He is a broadcast veteran who has worked at every level, from weekend weather at KATC Lafayette, La., to Chief Meteorologist at WXVT Cleveland, Miss.

Some of his past coverage highlights include Hurricane Barry, Tropical Storm Cindy and Tropical Storm Olga.

Originally from Cincinnati, Zernich is a graduate of Ohio State University.
