‘WIS News 10 At 10 On Columbia’s CW’ Is Expanding To Full Hour

Gray Television’s NBC affiliate WIS Columbia, S.C., said today that the station’s half-hour 10 p.m. newscast, WIS News 10 at 10 on Columbia’s CW, seen on its 10.2 subchannel, will expand to a full hour beginning Sept. 12.

Currently, WIS News 10 at 10 on Columbia’s CW airs from 10 to 10:30 p.m. and is followed by the syndicated Mom at 10:30-11.

“We’ve been looking at expanding our newscast in this timeslot for a while now,” said Brad Hyatt, WIS news director. “We’re listening to our audience, and more local news coverage is important to them. It’s thanks to the team that we’re able to make sure we get the right people in the right places to pull it off. I’m both proud and excited to see this finally happen.”

WIS VP-GM Lyle Schulze added: “We are very excited to announce this expansion of our 10 p.m. newscast. As the market leader in local news, with WIS producing over 50 hours of live newscasts each week, it is a natural progression for us to extend to an hour on Columbia’s CW. In less than two years, the 10 p.m. newscast on Columbia’s CW has become the fastest growing local newscast in the market.”
