WKMG-Channel 6 has started an online newscast, “News 6/360,” that lets viewers be the camera operator.

The weekly show debuted Wednesday and will be available Wednesdays after lunch.

The newscast, which runs about five minutes, is presented in a 360-degree environment.

The viewer chooses where to look as the two hosts, anchor Ginger Gadsden and digital reporter Brianna Volz, share stories with memorable footage.

Reports in the premiere focused on the Australia fires, space traffic and an Orlando girl’s battle against a rare form of leukemia. The girl’s smile moved the hosts.

In a preview, Volz said the hosts are presenting the news off the cuff and in a less formal style.
