WKOW Promotes Dani Maxwell To News Director

Quincy Media’s ABC affiliate WKOW Madison, Wis., has appointed Dani Maxwell news director. She succeeds Ed Reams who is joining WKOW’s sister station WREX Rockford, Ill., as interim general manager.

Anna Engelhart, WKOW general manager, said: “Dani has been an integral part of our newsroom the minute she arrived. Her experience along with her inquisitive nature, positive attitude and effective communication skills make her an excellent fit for this role.”

Maxwell has been with WKOW since January 2012, but she has been with Quincy Media, WKOW’s parent company, since December 2001. She started at WKOW as Wake Up Wisconsin news anchor and then was assistant news director for the past three years.

Previously Maxwell was an evening anchor and content manager with WREX Rockford before joining WKOW.

Maxwell will begin her new duties at WKOW on Monday, May 24.

She is a 2000 graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, Ill., where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism.
