WTTG To Introduce 4 P.M. News Broadcast

Fox-owned WTTG Washington will debut an hour-long 4 p.m. newscast this spring. With this addition, WTTG and co-owned WDCA will broadcast 13.5 hours of locally produced news and entertainment programming each weekday, and 78.5 hours each week, which, the stations say, is more than any other station in the market.

In making the announcement, VP-GM Patrick Paolini said: “Every time we have expanded, we have been rewarded with new viewers. In this all-encompassing news environment, people have the luxury of being selective of how, where and when they consume their news. In order to remain competitive, our skilled newsroom has proven its ability to adapt and provide original, creative, and authentic products that meet the needs of our audience.”

This newscast will lead off a 3.5 hour block of original WTTG-produced news and entertainment programming during the early evening, with the Fox 5 News at 5 p.m., Fox 5 News at 6 p.m., Fox 5 News at 6:30 p.m. and Fox 5’s Like It Or Not.
