WXTV Appoints Luisa Collins VP Of Content

She joins from Entravision Communications to lead newsgathering at Univision New York.

Univision’s WXTV-DT New York today named Luisa Collins vice president, content.

Beginning July 19, she will oversee Univision New York’s newsroom and lead content on all of Univision New York’s linear and digital properties that reach Latino audiences in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Collins will report directly to Roberto Yanez, president and general manager.

He said: “From traditional linear TV and radio to digital and streaming properties, Latinos are getting their news and information on more platforms that ever, and Univision New York has been the trusted source of that information for Latinos in the Tri-State area for over 50 years. We are thrilled to welcome veteran journalist Luisa Collins to lead our news team into the future.”

An industry veteran, Collins has more than 15 years of experience in television journalism. She most recently led news operations at Entravision Communications, managing content development for local news coverage across the company’s 25 television stations in major Hispanic markets across the United States.

Her prior television experience also includes stints at Telemundo and Drewry Communications Group. Collins attended the University of North Texas.
