Katie Orth Joins KWGN As Weekday Morning Co-Anchor

Nexstar’s CW affiliate KWGN Denver has added anchor Katie Orth as co-anchor for Daybreak effective Monday, May 17. She will team with current anchor Chris Parente from 4:30 to 9 a.m. weekdays.

Orth comes to KWGN from KMID, Nexstar’s ABC affiliate in Midland, Texas, where she was primary evening anchor and reporter since 2017. Before that she was morning anchor and reporter for KIDY San Angelo, Texas.

She began her television career at KAMU (PBS) College Station, Texas, as anchor and promotions assistant. During her tenure at KMID Orth covered major stories such as President Trump’s tour of west Texas oil fields while securing an exclusive one-on-one interview. She also covered the Odessa, Texas, mass shooting and Hurricane Harvey.

Orth graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in communication and journalism.
