MNT NAMES NEW VP OF MIDWEST AD SALES

Ian Mahoney chosen as vice president, advertising sales, Midwest for My Network TV and Twentieth Television.

Ian Mahoney today was named vice president, advertising sales, Midwest, for My Network TV and Twentieth Television. 

Effective immediately, Mahoney will work closely with Larry Vanderbeke, the company’s vice president, advertising sales, Midwest on sales for MNT, the new primetime general entertainment broadcast, as well as all first-run and off-net syndication ad sales for Twentieth Television. Mahoney will also represent the company on the West Coast.  Reporting to Dave Barrington, MNT senior vice president and general sales manager, advertising sales; and Elizabeth Herbst-Brady, senior vice president, advertising sales of Twentieth Television, he will be based in the company’s Chicago offices.

Mahoney joins MNT and Twentieth Television from Court TV in Chicago, where he was vice president, advertising sales, Midwest and worked on Parco P.I. and Twentieth Television’s COPS.

Prior to that, he worked at NBC Universal in Chicago, where he was director of cable entertainment sales and was responsible for such shows as Bravo’s Project Runway and Being Bobby Brown; USA Network’s Monk, Deadzone, US Open tennis coverage and multiple PGA tour events; and Sci-Fi Network’s Battlestar Galactica and Stargate SG-1.

Mahoney began his career as director of media sales for Black Entertainment Television in Chicago. While there, he oversaw ad sales for Donnie Simpson’s show Video Soul and BET’s numerous awards shows.
