Neulion and Hawaii IPTV launch Hawaii Broadcast Network

Hawaii IPTV has chosen NeuLion Inc.’s iPTV Service as the platform for the first “live” Hawaii broadcast network.

Using NeuLion’s iPTV platform, Hawaii IPTV will deliver a variety of Hawaii programming, in real-time, directly to subscription and pay-for-view consumers anywhere in the world.

Hawaii IPTV offers what it calls “the largest collection of Hawaii-based programming distributed through leading edge IPTV technology directly to the television.” The goal of the Hawaii IPTV service is to deliver the Hawaii experience to Native Hawaiians and Hawaii expatriates living away from Hawaii.

In conjunction with the debut of Hawaii IPTV, Chris Wagner, NeuLion’s executive vice president, will be speaking at the Pacific Telecommunications Council in Honolulu, Hawaii today. He will discuss the current union of telecommunication and entertainment media, as most recently executed with the debut of Hawaii IPTV.

Programming selections include news broadcasts, including KGMB Honolulu. Hawaii IPTV customers will be able to view the nightly news live or on demand. Subscribers can also enjoy special features including documentaries on Duke Kahanamoku and Eddie Aikau, local classics like Checkers and Pogo, popular local weekly shows like Board Stories, Hawaii Goes Fishing, Hawaii Reel Stories, Entertaining In Paradise, as well as sports, music, education and fashion programs.

The settop box costs $150 and the monthly service fee is $15. The service can be ordered online at www.TVfromHawaii.com.
