‘Feud’ Again Tops Syndies, While ‘Live’ Leads Talkers
The Beijing Winter Olympics continued to put a chill into syndication ratings in the session ending Feb. 20, but a handful of winners emerged.
The most prominent of these was Live with Kelly and Ryan, which like virtually all of the heavy hitters on the Nielsen chart was retitled, but shook off the Olympics competition and jumped into sole possession of first place in talk. Buoyed by a strong performance on Valentine’s Day that featured appearances by George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth, the morning mainstay broke out of a tie with Dr. Phil with a 6% spike to a 1.7 live-plus-same-day national rating.
The other big Disney talker, Tamron Hall, also lit up the leader board with a 17% surge to a 0.7.
In access, Entertainment Tonight skated into a dead heat for first place among magazines, growing 5% to a 2.0.
Family Feud continued to lead the game shows and all of syndication for a second week, although it slipped 2% to a 5.6. That topped second-place Jeopardy, which also weakened 2%, dropping to a 5.4.
