Fired Up ‘Family Feud’ Back On Top
Family Feud strengthened 2% to a 5.2 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating and finished first in the overall syndication race by a convincing margin in the summer session ending Aug. 7.
Court show extraordinaire Judge Judy brought the heat and jumped into second place overall with a steady 4.4, while last week’s leader Jeopardy slipped 19% to a new season low 4.2 and settled for a share of third. All three of the Nielsen heavyweight were in repeats although this was Jeopardy’s first week of reruns.
Live with Kelly and Ryan raked up a 1.5 and remained the No. 1 talk show all alone at the top for the second straight week, and the 49th time in the last 64 weeks, including 16 ties with Dr. Phil. Encore episodes of Phil held their ground at a second-place 1.4.
Of note, next in line Kelly Clarkson repeats rose 75% from the comparable Olympic-titled week in 2021, to a 0.7, attracting more than 1 million daily viewers. That was talk’s biggest year-to-year rating increase by far.
In off-net news, Dateline dominated the weekly hours category with a 24% surge to a 4.1.
