LOS ANGELES, California — Make it an even 20 for Amy Schneider.
The Dayton, Ohio, native continued her history-making run on Tuesday, winning her 20th straight game and pushing her overall earnings to $768,600, according to Local 10.
Schneider, who is an engineering manager and currently lives in Oakland, California, now has the most earnings for a female contestant in the show’s history. She set the mark last week with her 18th victory, surpassing the previous record of $655,930 earned by Larissa Kelly of Richmond, California, in 2008, yahoo.com reports.
Kelly used Twitter to congratulate Schneider for surpassing her record.
“Well, it was fun to hold a Jeopardy record for a few years ... but it’s been even more fun to watch @Jeopardamy set new standards for excellence, on the show and off,” Kelly writes in the tweet. “Congratulations to Amy on becoming the woman with the highest overall earnings in the show’s history!”
Schneider responded with her own tweet: “Thanks so much, I’m honored to be in your company, and I look forward to some day watching the woman who beats us both!”
Schneider is the first transgender woman to qualify for the program’s “Tournament of Champions.”
