WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Jeopardy’ Tops The Games In Slow Week

The frame ending March 8 was a challenging one for most syndicated programs as it included Super Tuesday, the biggest day of the 2020 primaries with one-third of all delegates awarded in 14 states and one territory.

Jeopardy, with longtime host Alex Trebek, clocked a steady 6.4 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating and was the top game show for the 10th week in a row in the session ending March 8.

The frame was a challenging one for most syndicated programs as it included Super Tuesday, the biggest day of the 2020 primaries with one-third of all delegates awarded in 14 states and one territory.

Running just behind Jeopardy was Family Feud, which fell 3% to a 6.1, and Wheel of Fortune, which was flat at a 6.1.

Season-to-date, Jeopardy is the second-highest strip overall behind only the seemingly unbeatable Judge Judy. For the current stanza, Judy averaged a daytime-leading 6.4, even though it was partly in reruns and continued to slaughter the court shows for the 1,224th consecutive week.

Elsewhere in the daypart, Dr. Phil was also in repeats for a portion of the week and eased 14% from its season high set in the prior session to a 2.4. Still, that topped the talkers for the sixth straight week and 179th time in the past 183 weeks.

Live with Kelly and Ryan grabbed second-highest honors with a steady 2.0.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

Others scoring in talk’s top tier were Ellen DeGeneres, hit newcomer Kelly Clarkson and veteran Wendy Williams at 1.9, 1.3 and 1.3, respectively.
