The hot talker advanced 20% in the key demo and matched its season high in households with a 7% weekly surge to a 1.6 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, with about 2.4 million daily viewers on average in the week ending Dec. 11.

Live with Kelly and Ryan was the only talker in the top six able to shrug off three days of World Cup soccer competition and score higher ratings in the session ending Dec. 11.

Live, which has been a talk show terror this season, finishing first for the past 29 weeks in a row (including eight ties), took the top spot, advancing 20% in the key demo and matching its season high in households with a 7% weekly surge to a 1.6 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, with about 2.4 million daily viewers on average.

Dr. Phil coughed up 7% of its ratings to a second-place 1.3, followed by Kelly Clarkson, which was clipped with a 10% loss to a 0.9. Tamron Hall was hit with a 13% soccer-related slam, but still tied the steady Drew Barrymore and Rachael Ray at a 0.7. Of note, Drew still delivered syndication’s strongest increase over last year, forging ahead 40%.

Judge Judy continued to lay down the law among legal shows, summing up the week with a 3% improvement to a 4.0.

Turning to access, the top two games — Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune — were flat.

Extra was extra hot, however, providing the biggest percentage among magazines with a 20% spike to equal its season high 0.6.

Shouldn’t it be mentioned that Drew’s show was broken into two 30 minute segments now so her ratings are doubled because they count twice now???
