WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

‘Live With Kelly And Ryan’ Tops Once Again

The talk show is the scarce syndie to post an increase over the previous week.

Live with Kelly and Ryan racked up its sixth straight talk show race victory in the session ending April 17, and was the only top-tier strip in all of first-run syndication surging into positive territory. It was extremely difficult for programs to move up in the Good Friday-Easter-Passover week as most were heavily preempted or affected by the UESA Champions League soccer semifinals and extensive coverage of the Brooklyn subway shooting.

Kelly and Ryan rallied, however, sprinting ahead 6% from the week before to a 1.7 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating. Live has now led the hotly contested category 36 times in the last 49 weeks, including nine ties with Dr. Phil. Phil was partially in repeats and retreated 7% to a second-place 1.4.

Ellen DeGeneres broke into the Top 3, holding its ground at a 0.9 despite plenty of preemptions, while Kelly Clarkson slipped 11% to a 0.8.

Further back, Jerry Springer suffered the group’s most severe decline, tumbling 25% to a 0.3.

Among game shows, Jeopardy remained in front but fell 2% to a 5.4; Family Feud faded 4% to a 5.1; and Wheel of Fortune skidded 4% to a 4.9.

Also trending lower were 25 Words or Less, which lost 13% to a 0.7 and Funny You Should Ask, which fell 25% to a 0.3.
